Iron Maiden Artist Tour

Iron Maiden Artist Tours (IMAT) brings together artists and art aficionados for exclusive, mobile experiences. Each tour follows an itinerary devised by a New York-based visual artist, who leads the tour from the front passenger seat of a 1978 Volvo station wagon, the Iron Maiden. Two passengers, who have purchased their seats, sit in the backseat. Project Artist Naomi Miller is the driver. All four participants move through a tour that closely relates to the featured artist's practice or knowledge base

Join founder and director Andrew Beccone as we visit some of the library's favorite sources to search for acquisitions in New York City's Long Island outer boroughs. After rescuing some delectable gems, the tour will finish at the library, where passengers will be given an overview of the library's cataloging and image-harvesting facilities, as well as collaborations. And perhaps whiskey. The tour will last approximately three hours. $125 per passenger.
